Happy Valentine's Day! As you already know, I love giving favors away for all occasions. This saltine toffee brittle could not be easier to make and honestly can be decorated for any occasion! This is definitely one of those indulgences so I wouldn't recommend having this on the daily, but once a year won't do you any harm!

1.50 package of saltines (~60 crackers)
 1 cup unsalted butter
 1 cup brown sugar (unpacked)
 2 semi-sweet chocolate chips
 0.25 cup pecan pieces (optional)
 Valentine's Day sprinkles (optional)
1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

2

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Layer saltines on the tray in a single layer.

3

In a medium saucepan, melt the butter and sugar on medium heat until nice and bubbly (about 5 minutes).

4

Pour the brown sugar mixture over the saltines and smooth over in a single layer.

5

Place in the oven for about 8 minutes. After the 8 minutes is over, evenly spread the chocolate chips over the saltines and place back in the oven for 2 minutes.

6

Take the baking sheet out and using a spatula, evenly spread the chocolate across the top. The chocolate should be easy to spread.

7

Top with any kind of toppings you would like, I did pecan pieces and Valentine's Day sprinkles in honor of Valentine's Day. Enjoy!
